so i have a couple of my friends games that i said i would take to my local game/video/music store to fix since they said that they can fix it but i was wondering what you guys have done in the past to relieve this issue. does toothpaste really work? my local store is going to charge me $4 per disk which isnt bad since theres only 3 but still.

Don't use toothpaste with Cilica in it, it will only further destroy your CD. But with the ring around the rosey, erm.... I mean ring around the disc. You can't really fix it. 4 bucks is alot better than re-buying the game :P. I had to completey replace my GTA4 when that happened to me. Expensive and a mistake that don't need to happen. It was totally my fault and I learned.

If you have a hard drive and your xbox is still reading the discs as game discs you can try this. Borrow the game from a mate and install it on your hard drive. If your xbox is still reading the disc then it should start up and play but this doesn't solve getting the disc to work by itself just the game. If your games are still working and you just want the scratches removed try disc repair kits, they're only about $5

Yeah, there is no way to fix a ring scratched game so don't bother trying.

Well you've obviously never had it happen to you..don't go telling people these things if you're just assuming.

I moved my xbox 360 with my phantasy star online disc in, it got the ring scratch. So i took it to my local game shop where they had a disc cleaner. For £2 they cleaned it for me and it works fine =]

It's called laserburn, happened to me a couple of times.

It happens when u move the xbox or the disk slip whenit is sitting vertically.

The game store can reapair it.

Just keep ur xbox horizontal and don't move it when it's on and it shouldnt happen again.

you can only do it once, if you do it twice it removes the data from the disc, so be careful after you do it
