"Put this disk in an XBox 360 Console" Should i send it in?

I dont get this error messege every time. But it does happen frequently. Microsoft offered to repair it for free, free shipping, free one month gold xbl card. Should I get it repaired now or wait for it to completely crap out on me?

Wow! Calm down (guilty conscience or something?) I was just saying that I have only heard of this in this context. Sorry if it offended your fragile little mind. Sheesh :roll:

I have gotten that error alot lately @ "put disc in..." I have to open / close the disc trey about 4 - 5 times then it starts realizing..."oh hey i am a xbox 360 console" lol. Some extreme cases I would have to turn off / turn on the console a number of times to make it work. This has happened to me with old, and brand new fresh out the box games. I also get the error sometimes that would read a game as a dvd. My disk trey also will not open if I dont have a disc already in the trey. If i try to open the trey and there is not already a disc in there it makes a sound like its stuck. I am forced to open the trey manually. I have cleaned the area many times and I am convinced the 360 is on its last leg. Sounds like the disc trey motor is shot. Shame too. Gave me a year of fun. Sorry man but sounds like u in the same boat as me and need to get another 360 soon.

 I dont think the previous guy was trying to excuse u of doing something illegal. He was just saying he only heard about that happening on illegal copies.
