So I just got my new 360 home, and want to start grabbing some demos (cool that tomb raider, kameo and burnout revenge were on there already).
I connected the console fine, and it ran through the initial connection test fine, but when I try to join Live, it hangs there thinking for a while (like 5 minutes) then simply tells me that "XBOX Live signup is currently unavailable".
I already have a Windows Live account that I use for MSN, so that's not an issue.
Does this happen on a regular basis? Is there a way to find out if it's an actual error?
What's weird is that the console says that I'm signing in as soon as it boots up.
Don't worry about it man, Microsoft programs are on the fritz today. MSN hasn't been working all day (discussion over at the Off-Topic forums), and I couldn't access my Hotmail account all morning. Just keep trying throughout the day, or maybe hold off until tomorrow... and ultim then play through some Tomb Raider and Burnout demoes.
Oh, and all these things tie in to your Microsoft Passport, which is used for your MSN account, Hotmail Account and Gamertag... so that's the specific reason why this particular part of Live is not working for you at the present moment.
This happens to me every time I try to sign up. EVERY time. I've tried early in the morning, late at night, mid-afternon...always the same message..."Xbox Live signup is curently unavailable".
I test my connection, everything is fine...I try to sign up and it's always unavailable...what am I doing wrong?
so I recently got my 360 and trying to create my gamertag. I also have an existing Windows Live account based on my passport account. This account is recognized when I log on to Windows Live from my PC. On the 360 I am also getting the "xbox live signup unavailable message". I have been attempting all day. Is this some kind of bad joke by MS? I thought this console gaming thing was supposed simplify everything.
