Now on my third 360. Had this one about 1 year. Just recently got the RROD yet again........yawn!!!!!

But the strange thing is it doesn't happen all the time. If I switch it off then on again it seems to work fine. Last night it worked on the third attempt. Anyone else experience this problem?

Starting to get seriously annoyed now with Microsoft. Thinking of binning 360 and getting a PS3. At least they are reliable.

Are you sure your console isn't just overheating? Sometimes when it overheats it just blanks and gives you some red lights! Maybe that's the problem? It's happened to me a couplre of times and if you just let it cool down for a while it will work fine. I'm on my first 360 still. Had it about a year and a half so i guess i'm lucky.

End this crappy theads please! If it happens, it happens. Nothing more to it. Microsoft has a THREE friggin year free of charge guarantuee. Isn't that enough? Want to own a ps3, and get a LU error after like a year (typical) and pay 150 bucks to get a refurb???? Right.... shouldn't think so, huh? And btw, if RROD happens, just send it in, buy a new one, and sell the refurb when it arrives. That'll get you a brand new 360 for peanuts. All good. See?

No, your NOT lucky.... the rrod is NOT as common as people want to make it out to be, if you keep your console in a vented place. Simple as that.

As declasse said, it can be several reasons. One red light = internal error (not critical), four lights = devices not connected properly (not critical) and so fourth..... everything red isn't RROD!!!!!!!!
