I just rented R6 Vegas, and I don't think I've ever seen a worse checkpoint system...ever. No checkpoints before important confrontations and they checkpoints that are there are spaced wayyyyy too far apart. Great game, but playing the same segement over and over again is not my idea of fun. I wasliterally shocked at how far back it sent me when I died.

Really? I thought Gears of War checkpoints were bad... I'd be playing it with my friend on coop, and sometimes we'd ask eachother if there was a checkpoint yet. You can usually feel where a checkpoint should be. I think there were some moments in R6V where I noticed it, I don't remember any checkpoints before you had to deal with hostages.

I thought Vegas' was pretty good. There were a few times towards the end of levels where I would finally get past hard battles only to die from something stupid and have to redo it that pissed me off, but thats really my fault.

The thing with the checkpoints in R6 is that they're unevenly spaced, sometimes they're placed appropriately or even too frequently but I agree that there could have been a few more checkpoints in specific spots to aleviate some of the frustrations that come with playing the same back to back battles, or finishing a fight you were having trouvle with only to get killed by an enemy on the other side of a door seconds later. I see what you guys mean, but it isn't hat bad.
