The .50 cal is fun to use (just because it's a .50 cal!!). but it is not that accurate. The R700 is more accurate and has less of a recoil. I stay with the M40 (the standard one) because I play on PC, and only play hardcore. So really all I need to kill people is one shot of any gun :D
it doesn't even have that much recoil in real life from what i've seen. but i dont even have it yet i just use my friends when i run out of ammo with the R700.
I like the first sniper rifle, its so dam accurate compared to the rest of them, & im also wondering why people use ACOG with their sniper, i mean, sure, it looks cool, but what other advantage does it have?
LOL. If you want a bolt action use the m420a3 because its more accurate and has less recoil. As for the 50 cal I dont like it because its not that accurate. I am not saying you cant hit stuff because you can but I would prefer the M420a3 for how accurate it is. But we all have our own tastes and the R700 I dont like at all.

The Barrett .50 has the recoil of a12 gauge with the compensator. It may not seem like much but for a scoped rifle is quite a bit. It may not appear to have much recoil btu that is also because it is heavy and target/varmint/sniper rifles have heavy barrells which, among many other things, send recoil back into the the shoulder instead of up an back. This can make it appear to have more recoil. The .308 or 7.62 NATO has more than enough recoil but not nearly as much as the compensated .50.
