Sorry but there's way too many racing games, some standout from others, but all have the same concept and offer the same thrills IMO

Aparantly you have not played many racing games. Go play Burnout Paradice then go play Forza 3 and tell me they are even close to the same thing. About the only similarity there is the fact that they both have cars.
Really lets compare Forza 2 to Forza 3. Its the same sh*t, just a different smell. Look at me racing around the same track for half an hour, ooo fun. No Forza falls into the category of too realistic to be fun. Just like Operation Flashpoint falls into the category of too realistic to be fun.xFrankensteinMaybe it's just because you don't appreciate racing simulators and beautiful cars as much as some people do.
That's true for most games - particularly FPS games. That's why so much credit is afforded to those that try to stand out.

No, I do appreciate cars, thats why I got FORZA 2, it just becomes monotonous racing around the same track for half an hour, it gets boring after being out in first place for the last 10 laps, only to discover you have 20 laps to go.

NO thank you Well there you go, now you can buy Forza 3 and use the nifty rewind feature. You can play on a harder difficulty so you are presented with a challenge and not have to worry about losing on the last lap and doing the whole thing over again. There's also online play.
[QUOTE="RipaX21"] There's also online play.xFrankensteinNo sh*t sherlock, what game like that these days doesn't have online? Astute observation there, Watson. I wasn't saying that I had made a grand discovery, that would look more like this; "OMG, guys, did you know? Forza 2 has online play!" I was simply saying that when the single player has become exhausted of its playability there is always online play. Online play is a good reason to buy the next iteration of your favorite franchise, it keeps the community fresh and populated. But if you want to be a jerk about it that's cool too, I don't like you much anyway.

What you were saying was like saying that the ocean is wet as well as blue. (And dont get scientific on me, I know it looks blue becaus light hits it and all other colors escape except blue on the color spectrum.)[QUOTE="xFrankenstein"][QUOTE="RipaX21"] There's also online play.RipaX21
How ironic coming from someone naming themselves after Madden - you've played one, you've played them allSorry but there's way too many racing games, some standout from others, but all have the same concept and offer the same thrills IMO

Yet your last two played games are the epitome of "You've played one, you've played them all"
Madden hasn't felt different since..has it ever changed?
Rock Band 2? Haha.

That seems to apply to sports and racing games. Small tweaks, same crap over and over. Once in a while a game will come out with something different, but for the most part they suffer from Madden syndrome. At least shooters and RPGs will have vast differences from each other. Halo to Half Life, Morrowind to Oblivion. Seems for racing the differences are muscle, exotic, sports, or tuner.cametall
I'll agree that there are more changes that can be made to an RPG over a simulation sports or simulation racing game. But racing games as a genre? Look at Need For Speed. Hot Pursuit saw you choosing from a defined list of cars with no options besides color, racing on closed road circuits with a few shortcuts, and being chased by the police. Underground 2 opened you up to a free roam city with a boat load of upgrades for every car and the ability to paint them thousands of different ways. Shift brings back closed courses and has tried to really get into the simulation aspect. Then you have games like Midnight Club, Burnout, and Stuntman. And the grand daddy's of console sim racing, Forza and Gran Turismo. These games are intended for people who love cars and love racing. No other games go as deep with detail and tuning options as these two. And Forza's livery editor is mind blowing.
