Only one game, money isn't an issue, can't get both.

I would say Rage. Borderlands is basically a one-trick pony - once you get bored of it's leveling and combat mechanics and realize the game has absolutely nothing else to offer in terms of level design, story or anything else you'll never want to play it again (took me about 10 hours).
As for Rage can't say I've played it but it looks like it'll have alot more to offer.
well it depends what you are looking for in the game?
Borderlands is great as a co-op game, on of the most enjoyable co-op games iv ever played actually and played with your friends it really is a lot of fun, but played on your own in singleplayer its pretty boring if im honest
Rage looks to be a fantastic singleplayer experience, altho its obviously not been released yet so nobody knows for sure
so i would say Borderlands if you have friends who would play co-op with you, and Rage if you are looking for a great singleplayer game!
For little to no money you can get Borderlands GOTY edition, which packs 70+ hours of awesome gameplay. Go for it.
rage, Borderlands is tricky, either you'll play it for an hour (like me, a story-based gamer) or play it for 100 hours (like my brother, a loot-happy gamer)
Rage doesn't come out for another month and a half. In that time, you could get Borderlands GOTY, beat it, sell it back, and buy Rage when it drops. So, I say both. But NO ONE can really answer which one you should get. Rage isn't even out yet. We don't know if it will be any good. It looks good, but so did Brink.......................
Well, do remember that it was Splash Damage that made Brink fail, not Bethesda. id has a very good track record.Rage doesn't come out for another month and a half. Rage isn't even out yet.
Besides, the games are only similar in their settings.
Get Borderlands now if you have friends to play it with. I'd pass on it and wait for Rage if you don't. The game just doesn't shine at all through SP.
Rage isn't a rail shooter. You need to look up what a rail shooter is. This is a free-roaming FPS. And the story & character customization is what used to separate most RPGs from basic video games, but now-a-days, the story in a lot of genres, especially FPS, rival -- if not surpass -- a lot of today's RPG stories. Customizing a character is only one aspect of an RPG, and it's slowly becoming the only aspect different from other genres.I'd recommend Borderlands. RPGFPS > Rail-shooters.

Rage hasn't come out yet, so as of right now that isn't a choice. I thought Borderlands was a good game and I had fun with it, but I don't think it was all the game that many other people seem to think it is. I thought the character development was lame but I found the amount of weapons and equipment available to beamazing.Considering who is making Rage though, I'd go Rage all the way.
