I have not been able to play a game on R6 and ive been trying all week....so far i ve played on two hosts that i have been able to stay connected to for more than a game...halfway through a game...or while spectating it will freeze and send me to a loading screen where DISCONNECTED FROM XBOX LIVE will pop up....i dont understand it because I have a lag free HOST on Gears and have never had a problem on any otehr game.....since i got seriously i wnated to move on to Rainbow for a while but ive spent hours looking for a game...and i usually disconnect while waiting for the next round....what is wrong with this game? (I have a good connection, and right now im playing on my direct connection so wifi is not to blame...i used to be able to play this online but now it is impossible)
Go to www.speedtest.net to check, but what kind of internet service do you have? It may just be your connection.chris62492
i guess teh fact that i said my GOW playing and hosting was perfect and top of the list and that i played it last year didnt drop teh hint that it isn't my connection
When I host I kick people then don't have green bar.. I have a full room with 16 green bars all the time with NO lag at all! This game is awesome. You prob. just have a bad connection or something.

Gears lags for me something fierce and I've got a great connection. Anyway, there's no need to be a jerk, the guy's just trying to be helpful.
Yeah I don't know why RS:V would run poorly for you -- 95% of the time I'm in pretty much lag-free gaming for hours on end. I had Gears of War also and it ran fine too. I'm just on a regular DSL connection so that's nothing special. Maybe your router could be power-cycled or something? Like - I mean - unplug it and plug it back in, and turn off other stuff that's on the router and see if any other devices are interfering with the network performance. Or hook directly up with the ethernet cable to eliminate the variables.
I've found if I have stuff running on my PC through my router (like something being downloaded) while I'm playing then I get horrible performance in some 360 games but not in others -- maybe the way the packets are received and sent causes those sorts of problems - which might be different in RS:V than GOW. Try to get it working cuz once you switch to RS:V you won't go back to GOW.
I would definitely agree that once you play RS:V online you wont go back to GOW. I have been playing RS:V for a couple weeks now online and the players are friendly, there is no lag when you have a green bar, and it is just more fun to play. Not knocking GOW because I think it is a great game ( beat it on Insane diffiiculty) but it is just not that great online. I think once Halo 3 comes out, no one will be playing GOW online.

YOU have no lag because you are host:|, everyone else in the room will have slight lag as they are not hosting and this is over the internet, no game on the internet is lag free unless you are host. R6V does have a bit more lag than other games, I also play Gears and host with full connection.
I experience lag rarely when I play, different games require different bandwidth usage, having a game of say 14 people in Vegas it's probably putting a strain on your internet, while I believe GEARS has a max of 8 players? That might be the case I'm not sure.
