I'm sure there is a post on this already but... I just beat Rainbow 6 Vegas on Realistic difficulty but didn't get the achievement.  Why?

There is a horrendous glitch that resets your difficulty to normal if you dont quit a certain way, which is by going to the menu. You probably just turned off your console at some point, and then it reset when you loaded your checkpoint. And no, theres no way to tell which section you have to redo. My suggestion is to go to Ubisoft's HQ and start swinging.

It's a glitch. There are other achievement glitches too. for example, I've got most kills in an online ranked team sharpshooter match at least 30 times and I never got the achievement.

Yes, RebornInFlames is right, when you quit the game on realistic, the next time you load up you have to do this: Single Player, Story Mode, Reload Last Checkpoint. If you select reload last checkpoint from the welcome screen the difficulty drops back to normal. You can check by seeing if your aim turns red when you aim at a terrorist and if you have 4 grenades of each (normal). If your aim stays white and you only have two grenades of each you're playing on realistic.

You don't have to start all over, just see if you remember the last stage you beat after you turned it off the first time, and continue from there.

After you beat it, let's meet up in Montreal and take the power back.  Damn Canada, Damn Ubisoft.

Dude thats not it though cause I have loaded from the welcome screen every time and I've been checking like mad for  a red crosshair and have never seen one, and Im always stuck with 2 lousy grenades. Plus it has been consistently hard. Even so, I have no doubt I wont get the achievement. Guess Ill add that to the 125 Prey still owes me for beating the game. Honestly, how complex is the programming for bloody achievements though?
