I never played Rainbow Six Vegas and it's too late to buy it IMO. I'm not buying it when 2 is coming out. Is it vital for the story mode to have played 1? Or does it not matter? cyrax453
It doesn't really matter. For a lot of people, Vegas was the first Rainbow Six game they played, and they haven't read the novel or played Lockdown or any of the other RS games, but they still loved it.
Vegas 2's also going to be a "part prequel, part sequel" so you'll catch up on the story as you play.
I bought Vegas well over a year ago, and I probably will get Vegas 2. I think the multiplayer is decent, but the singleplayer feels like a shooting gallery... my biggest problem with Vegas is that they still call it a Rainbow Six game, and they still advertise it as a realistic tactical shooter when it's an arcade game compared to games like Raven Shield or Rogue Spear. I'll still play it, but I miss the old R6. ag1002
Yeah. RS started more forgiving with Raven Shield.
And it's so different from the novel. I mean where's Ding and Eddie Price and the rest?

I didn't play R6V1 and I only recently started playing COD4 so I'm not as stoked for this game as some (since I'm not burned out on COD4 yet), but I will probably get it within a month of release. From everything I have heard it will be different enough from COD4 to warrent owning both.
i got r6v like a week ago and i almost beat it, i think. i will definatly get vegas 2.patsfan4liferjn
I hope the multiplayer servers on RSV don't go empty.
the first one is easily one of my fave this gen games, i was never really in to tactical shooters, but when i played it i was hooked, went out and got GRAW2 and i'm now a convert, to the point where i get frustrated at shooters that dont't have cover and fire.
cant wait for vegas 2, the story had me hooked from the first game, so i have to find out what happens, yes it's more like a vegas 1.5 rather than 2, but i dont care, but glad they have tweaked team AI

I'm a huge Clancy fan but I didn't really like Ghost Recon or Splinter Cell. Maybe it's because Rainbow Six is in the Ryanverse, like the novels.
Or because I didn't like the gameplay. Well in that case, GRAW 2 was good.
