Rainbow Six Vegas.......

ok this game looks awesome, sounds awesome, and everything about it looks awesome, but all my friends say the game suks.

i think its cause its a realistic shooter and they all play and love gears, oblivion and stuff. i've never really played a realistic shooting game so i don't know if i'll like it. so do u think i'll like even though i havn't played one?

also my friends said that it was like Splinter cell, is this true? cause i didn't really like splinter cell.

 o and i don't have a 360 yet i was wondering if it would be a good first game.also i don't like gears. and im not wasting 100+ hours of my life on oblivion. k thanx

I hate Tom Clancy games. All I want is a point and shoot game. I don't want to have to use ziplines, open doors with flash bang grenades, and protect my partners.

    In the same respect I don't much like Gears. I mean it is a good game and all and a beauty at that.

My fav shooter so far is Lost Planet. It is hard to manuever in the game which I like because it gives a complicated feel to it. Sniping is hard as hell and you have to look the enemy right in the face with a shotgun to get a kill. Good training for Halo 3 if you ask me.

cmon you should at least try it when i got my 360 with gears i was amazed with the campaign mode while the online was "ok and then boring and absurd" but when i got rainbow six that was mindblowing online playing imo "the best online game since halo 2", its about all the weapons, customization of weapons, customization of your character, armor, apparel. the levels, game modes etc. you can even have your face in the game if you got a live vision camera even got you 30 gs achievement points :) vegas its really a great game at first youre gonna die everybody dies here even the guys with the highest ranks with the "godly" armor but its plenty of fun the ranking system its really addictive cause youre gonna rank up and get better things for your character. at least try it, i played the online demo and i've be hooked to this game all the time. imo this is the best tom clancy game ever.

vegas is a great game, arguably the best shooter on the 360 yet

 it is way harder than what you may be used to though, being a realistic tactical shooter and all. and patient is definately required in both sp or on live if you wanna enjoy it

I love R6Vegas. The controls are fantastic.

Too bad I live in NZ and for online it only searches american servers though.. I can't play with those pings.

Well, there's a few things different. Firstly, battles aren't decided by the power of a weapon, but by the accuracy of the one who's using it. This doesn't only mean how well you can point at their heads with the analogue stick, but also how much you're moving/ looking around. Of course there's some weapons like shotguns that are easy to handle, but still someone skilled can easily outgun you with his pistol or even with his sniper. It's just a lot harder with them.

The thing most people take time to get accostumed to is however that you can always be killed in one shot. You'll always have to watch yourself, and stay near cover. Otherwise it can get very frustrating.
