I already have these games and really enjoy them, so this is NOT a recommendation thread.

Just wondering what you guys think of this series now? Is it still among the best? Does it feel dated now and old?

With Gears of War, and a lot of FPSs out nowadays, do you guys think Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 still rank with the best shoothers of this gen? I really enjoyed the duck and cover gameplay and worked really well. However, the graphics feel slightly dated now especially the character models. I can't believe these games came out during the same time Gears of War 1 & 2 came out. And playing through both again makes me realize that Gears of War still looks incredible and still some of the best visuals of this gen while Rainbow Six feels like a first generation current gen title, if that makes sense.

Gameplay-wise, it ranks among the best of them. I think multiplayer is better than Gears and probably still one of the best among current games.

But what do you guys think?

There's one thing I dislike about Rainbow Six, I always felt as if I was just spraying when I payed the game. I never looked down the iron sights, I never really took again, I just shot at the center of the screen and always got the kill. The only gun I ever used was the Raging Bull, just because it was a one shot kill.

Rainbow six vegas 1 is still fun to play, however rainbow six vegas 2 is garbage, theres like only a couple maps that are actual casinos. Rainbow six is stil;l fun but it pales in comparison to Halo 3, Battlefield, and killzone, and resistance, and COD. and quake( sorry had to throw that one in there)

Its on par with halo 3 and cod imo its a slower pase but jsut as fun and old. Its not as good as battlefield and its better than killzone or resistance. Quake well dpeends which one.

It's fun and all, but compared to pre-Vegas Rainbow Six games, it's ****.

You're comparing a tactical shooter to run n' guns?

It's still the pinnacle of slow-paced, methodical, team-based tactical shooters, if only by default. The first Vegas is still probably my favorite shooter this generation (though the second one was a bit of a disappointment)but MAG and the soon-to-be-released Battlefield Bad Company 2, while nottactical persay, offer the team-based play I've been craving for awhile now. No other true tactical shooters have been released to dethrone Vegas, however.

And your point being? Te thread asked if RB6V could run with the other dogs. you fail harder than a developmentally challenged ell dog with spikes as shoes >_O!!!!!!!!!!! jk but yes he meant shooters in general im assuming FPS.

I've always wanted to go back and play those games because I used to love playing Terrorist Hunt with my friends. I'm not too sure it if holds up today because there has been so many shooters to come in the recent years.
