i was thinking of getting the game and was wondering if it was worth it for just the single player. i don't have xbox live yet, but i will get it sometime soon. so, is the game worth the 60 dollars for just the single player, or should i just spend the money or something else or wait until i get my xbox live and get R6:V then? i really want to try the game. i would appreciate your help, thank you:)

i haven't played it multiplayer yet, even though i do have xbox live. the single player was really fun, but i only made it to the last level before i bought oblivion, and R6:V hasn't made it back into my 360 since. not that it wasn't fun, but i'm thinking that if you don't have XBL, it might not be worth the $60

I got more enjoyment out of the single player than the multiplayer.

Yeah I think its worth it... If you start out playing on hard then the game should last you awhile... then when you get live you can play it again on co-op or team missions online.

Currently i only rent games through gamefly... so for me most games are rents. The rare game I will buy anymore these days. I have too many games that I don't play anymore.

Single player is awesome. I have Live but have never played it on there yet. The single player has been more than worth the price of the game. I'm soon gonna play through again on realistic.

The sp is awful, I completed it on "realistic" difficulty.

The cover system is pathetic, more often than not you´ll find it impossible to shoot from around a corner because of obstacles that serve absolutely no purpose.

A terrorist with a shotgun can kill me in 1 shot from the other side of the map, very "realistic".

The 2 idiots, your so called team mates are amazingly stupid ( one of them always refuses to take cover and they´ll let a terrorist run right between them and let him kill me, without ever releasing a shot )

Terrorists spawn out of thin air ( not very next gen if you ask me )

To me sp campaign just was´nt fun at all, I have more fun at work.

It's above average but there are some problems with it, not to mention that some sections are exceedingly frustrating on realistic.

Live is a must for vegas imo, i ran through the story in a day or two and got pretty old on my own, but if your hooked up to xbox live you can do the story co-op , which makes things more interesting.

there are some really minor cover system issues (and the nomal issues like not being able to jump over a sandbag...).. ofcourse these games never get really realistic..... But the cover sytem is one of the best in two (gears is the other). great game and on "realistic" fairly difficult

Lately, I don't think any game is worth 60 bucks without live or people to play with on a LAN, except for those games that are really meant to be just single player experiences, like Oblivion. Few games with good multiplayer have longer than 15 hours of single player, which is still somewhat a good deal (4 bucks an hour for entertainment) but then again, it'd be much cheaper to just rent it at the store or get one of those online subscriptions like gamefly, gameznflix or rentzero. Specifically, Rainbow 6 Vegas is fun, but kind of brutal. It kind of takes you back to the NES and SNES days where enemy memorization was important. I wouldn't buy it unless you planned to play online.

The MultiPlayer in a lot of fun, but the single player is great. So yes, you can buy it before your XBL (That is what I have done :)). And by the way, you have the possibility to play Terrorist hunt alone (or with friend) and this is on multiplayer map, so you can study them before going on Multiplayer.

Single player is ok. But multiplayer is what makes the game great! For me at least :)

Everyone told me that the single player was better then gears. Though the it was a little longer I found them to be equal. R6V really shines in multi-player. The single player is fun and it will help you learn the controls, but if you have no intent in playing multi-player I wouldn't buy it.

i think its worth a rental if you just play to play the single player... the multiplayer is the best part of the game.

Yes. Both the single and multiplayer are nice. If just for the single player the story is not bad at all and has you actually feel like you are part of a small elite team trying to regain control of Vegas.

The single player is totally worth it! I have Xbox Live as well but I find myself doing the terrorist hunt by myself or with a friend all the time (offline)! It's a blast! I haven't even done a whole lot with the story yet (which it's a great story mode) because the terrorist hunt is so fun and challenging! The bad guys act differently every time which makes it very fun to play the same levels over and over. Plus, you have three different settings for the amount of guys that you fight as well as two difficulty settings. The game is very worth it for the single player/offline multiplayer alone! Get it!

Stand still, while i hit you with a shotgun from far away....YOU WILL DIE. I shotgun shoot with my step dad; clay pidgeons. From about 20 meters you'll at least take a heavy hit, at least one pellet, or die.

After I played the singleplayer demo i just wanted to get the game for the singleplayer but it has both great songleplayer and multiplayer. Yes its a great game if you just play the singleplayer.
