My friend just got a 360 and Gears of War and is looking to get one of these other games. He's looking for a game with an enjoyable single player campaign, and fun, replayable multiplayer that can be played by four people outside of Xbox live. Which would be the best choice for this? Any other suggestions?

Vegas... exciting and challenging single player, great multiplayer -- local AND online -- great production values... just an all around great game. Better overall than Gears IMO. Gears is too entry-level even for me... although I play a LOT of games, I'm not really hardcore like some of these 1337 Halo folk or whatever.

Of your list there, I've played Rainbow Six and Lost Planet. Both games have a fairly good single player campaigns. Lost Planet does not have any offline multiplayer; Rainbow Six has offline multiplayer in the form of co-op story and terrorist hunts (up to 4 people). I don't know much about GRAW or Perfect Dark, but my recommendation would be Rainbow Six. I'm always finding myself going back to it whether it be single play or multi.

Vegas - 100% PDZ is one of the worst controlling games on the system, I'd seriously recommend against that (speaking from experience)

Wow thanks for all the quick responses. One more question: Is the multiplayer in Vegas the type of multiplayer you'd come back to time and time again or just a few times?

Like I said, I'm still finding myself coming back to Rainbow Six quite often. The co-op story:it depends on how much you want to play the story over; co-op terrorist hunt: you can pick a map, difficulty, density of terrorists in map, and have at 'em. They will spawn semi-randomly everytime you play. If you go on live multiplayer much, there are a ton of options to play.

Depends on how old you are, if you're at least 15-16+ go for Vegas. Most younger kids tend to stay away from the game because it requires skill beyond the Halo level, which is why it is the XBL version of Valhalla.

I have all four, and my favorite by a long shot is vegas. Just better in every way.
