Gears of War is a Third-person shooter, not a First-person shooter.

If you think GoW "counts" as an FPS, then you probably don't know the difference.

1. Gears of War (great camera makes it like a FPS)

2. Halo: Combat Evolved (just love the original)

3. Call of Duty 4 (they finally got it right)

4. Halo 3 (could have been much better)

We are rating it for its mechanics, not the fact it didnt meet it's hype. Im a more of a COD4 fanboy too, but there is no need to bash Halo 3. Halo 3 was still a good FPS. Main reason people are flaming it(like you) is because it's online play is flooded with so many immature ignorant kids, which pretty much killed it for the most of us. Even with this, it is still a common courtesy to list it(In respect to Halo:CE for god's sake)
