so im never going to play a ranked annex game again. anyone think they will change this? maybe if everyone calls and complains...

no, it counts for absolutely nothing...just thought people should know before they put lots of work into it and get excited when they get 40 kills in a round.

yeah--they shouldn't have made it a ranked match if the kills don't count (cause if u look at the descriptions it says 100 kills with this weapon in a RANKED MATCH)

Who cares about that, i'm more upset about the fact that apparently my character has been coated in some sort of adhesive so as to stick to every wall I happen to make incidental contact with.THETRUEDOZAH

because its supposed to be FUN. i guess many people have forgotten about that achievement.

ranked matches are by definition more serious than player matches...that's why they have player matches. personally i have the most FUN playing with friends, and it's almost impossible to get 8 friends into 1 ranked match making ranked matches the perfect place to focus on achievements and player matches the perfect place to have fun. the problem becomes that they have made the kills in annex not count towards the achievement, which i personally dont like at all.

 well, the points you earn still count towards your overall ranking, but since you dont get points for killing people, earning points seems tougher

I mean c'mon when you guys didn't have your lil achievment (which have no real purpose and wow 50 points so painful.. ugh) did you even play video games? Well atleast that leaves more room for "real" gamers who play for FUN (oooh shun the non believer!) to play with.

YES! And the patch was meant to fix this apparently. It's now much, much worse.

Lots of people like to beat a game. :| You get a sense of accomplishment. Like back when i used to play dead or alive, i got so infuriated with the survival mode it was no fun at all, but i kept playing 'til i got the 100 knockouts so i knew i had beaten that game. No achievement points. I dont see why you not bothering makes you a "real" gamer and everyone else is condemned. They just want to BEAT the game. Why is your point of view better than their's? Sheesh.

Too funny.  I see so many people talking about Gears and last I heard it was the top played on-line 360 game, but I don't know one person that still plays it (especially after the mid-Jan update).  Achievements is the only reason I would consider going back to play this game on-line.  That and 1 COG tag.

this is why achievements are slowly ruining games for everyone, players only play games to get their achievements, then when they get it, they won't touch a certain weapon in Gears for example ever again. Magna_Man109

I don't get why noone has realised that the reason that they've not let the kills count towards achievements is because if they did the achievements wouldn't mean anything any more. Incase you haven't actually played annex you should know that because of the infinite respawns it's not hard to get 20-30 kills a round instead of about 2-3 (if you're good) in any other game mode. Epic isn't retarded, they just know that because of the way annex works kill achievements make no sense. You could get 100 chainsaw kills in just one match for chrissake, is that fair? What they should have done, and may still do in the future is give annex its own, point based achievements that actually make sense. But IMHO I don't care anyway about achievements anyway because player matches with people who don't treat the game like its their job and you can have a good time with will always be more fun.Doc_smock

try 40+ kills per round in annex, which is the whole point in why im upset about it not counting. its still a ranked match! instead of taking months to get the rest of the kills, it would be nice to get the achievement faster (20 kills or more per 8 round game in execution, 40 kills in a 1 round game of annex--it makes the achievement a lot more tangible (im sorry, is this too big a word for you?)
