I'm just so sick and tired of montages that have rock music in them. It's so lame. In my opinion rap or hip hop should be put in some montages. It's just that rock is so repetitive and it sounds like crap. A good halo 3 montage isn't the same repetitive crap either, so don't ruin it with rock music. Post if you agree... and send me some links of some good one's with rap music.

Well the majority of rap that is listened too is absolute crap which is what gets me there are some real excellent artists out there that people never hear of.And with rock well that depends some people think Kings of Leon is rock and roll(which is ridiculous) when true rock and roll is the likes of ACDC.
But when it comes to a montage i'd rather use an instrumental beat or something of the like because the lyrics can roughen things up and be out of place where as a good beat or instrumental can seem to warp in with the visuals of the video itself.Haha sounds stupid right?
so much linkin park its insane, i wouldnt mind so decent hip-hop in a montage. although i do love str8 rippins montage, the music is rock but its not overly loud and annoying
I agree to the fullest on the instermental idea... that's what montages need now... a soild beat... and minor editing... personally I though the str8 montage was over edited...
Yeah man instrumentals are the way to go when i'm playing a game thats what i usually play from the hard drive and even rap songs you really have to believe how smoothly some songs fit in(not this new age crap though).I mean i listen to all music(to an extent) but i find it difficult listening to something like Pink Floyd or ACDC when i'm in a game of gears.
As long as people stop using the same old Linkin Park and Pendulum songs things could be better i mean damn if your going to use some form of rock at the least go for Rage Against The Machine or something not Wolfmother.
There are plenty hip hop songs that would make good montage footage. It's just people don't know nothing about music (like the idiot that said rap sucks).

I think people need to see that there is more than Linkin Park out there. I would love to see a great montage with Classical music or maybe alittle catchy Jazz. Linkin Park is not the best montage music when it has been done to death. Don't get me wrong I like some of Linkin Park's music but I get sick and tired of seeing people's uncreativity.
People need to stop worrying about what music they are using and try and create an interesting video. You should be able to take any game and combine with any sing and it make it flow. It is by FAR the lack of creativity from these montage creators that is dragging the video down, not Lincoln Park, not JahZee or Little Wang.

Personally, I'm sick of every single game I play being full of rap music in an attempt to cater to 15 year old suburban white kids who think they're "thugs". I hate having to go into the options of a game after 2 minutes of playing and turning off the music because I don't want to hear "Yo yo I gots da money and da hoes and ma bling bling and ma rimz is bigger den yourz, ya herd? Whitey try ta keep me down but I bust caps in da po po a** mo****er!! I sell da most drugz and I gotz a milli in cash and I be strapped... And shut up, yes it is all like that. It's the most formulaic form of music ever created and the whole "scene" is nothing but bandwagon jumping. Don't get me wrong, Linkin Park and all this emo crap isn't much better, but I seriously can't believe I'm reading a topic where someone thinks there's not ENOUGH rap music used in the gaming community. I think that he was upset that DeceptionDevil, feels that rap or hip-hop music is all negative and about one subject matter, and is trying to point out that rock music is filled with basically the same subject matter. How ever I feel both are pretty close minded or have not listened to other artist in the rap or rock music genre, as I love Hip-Hop but I like all different types of music from rap, rock, r&b, etc. Before saying that a any type of music is only filled with negative content or only contains one subject, how bout trying to actually try to see if thats true, because as a example their is some good Gospel Rap and Rock music out there, and I hardly believe that those songs are filled with the drug and women references. Back on topic the TC is refering to montages not other outlets, so he is kind of right but there is other rap montages out there besides ours, you just have to look.

If your tired of listening to rock music while playing a game, only you can change that, how ? Its simple play something else while you game. The subject is about people who make montages, and that they mostly use rock music, but as I said there is others you have to look for them; there is even some that use many different types of music in one montage.
Ok so I take it back... I guess rock music isn't as bad as I put it... (But it still gets old) And not to get too of topic. The main point of the post was that "most" montages that you see are shown with rock music. I'm just trying to find some with rap or hip hop because that's what I listen too when I play Halo 3. 90% of Montages are made with rock music... time for a change I think.
