A lot of people miss out on good games because of the ratings. a lot of people always look for the ratings or only if its an 8 or higher. If its a 7 people dont even touch it. jus overrated i think

Maybe, but I still play games even when they go as low as five out of ten. Control or something is often a factor in these games, but I still find them entertaining for my own reasons.

Hmm. There is a reason for ratings. You have to think like a reviewer, like a true gamer, put yourself in that situation like you're writing a review. And then you have your typical gamer who play for sheer fun, "I dont give a crap if Halo 3 is all edgy" types. From many years of gaming (since I was 6 or 7 years old - Mortal Kombat 2 days), I find most reviewers/critics to be pretty accurate. And you have to remember, that one person writing the review doesnt necessarily represent everyone else at that website or company At gamespot, Assassin's Creed gets a 9.0, at IGN, it recieved a 7.7 (pretty sure i'm right). So it all comes down to taste as well. Most people that I've come across love Oblivion/Morrowind; the whole gosh darn series. I'm not a fan. I didnt like the idea of watching my character wave around the sword (in first person, mind you) like he was buttering a piece of bread. I didnt like the overhaul of content and the massive scale of the game, scared me to even dare complete it. So there you have it. Ratings arent overrated, games are overrated to begin with! So dont believe the hype, believe in RENTing.

I take big note when it comes to critic reviews and player reviews.... That's only because I don't buy games often. When I do, I don't want to regret the decision I made.
