Okay, so I have a file going with my brother and I'm pretty far, but I want to start a new file with my friend, without losing my guns and such from the other file. But whenever I sign in with my gamertag, I have everything from my previous file, like it all carries over. Is there any way to have the weapons from my farther file stay there, and start fresh on another file?

Why would you want to?? Why not just use the file and gain more money and ammo and use it to upgrade your weapons?? Your new friend will have his own file and start from scratch.

If you just want to do the same amount of damage as your friend you can buy some new guns and store your old ones and still build up money to use for your "new" gun and when your not playing with your friend upgrade your good ones.

Are you sure? From my experience so far, I have been keeping all of my inventory despite starting over. I started a game with a split screen co-op parter and got through level 3-1. I went back to play the first chapters solo and still had all of my inventory. And also, the money and items that I picked up on my solo play, I was able to bring forward when I went back to playing co-op. I think you always have a running inventory that you take however you play.

Wait, maybe I'm misunderstanding your original post. You started a co-op game with a different gamertag and now you want that user's inventory when you start a game with your own gamertag? No that won't work. As with most games, your progress is tied to the gamertag that you are using.
