When I saw review of RE5, I was Flabergasted(yes thats a real word) at what they had to say about it.(lol)

Cant walk+shoot, menu doens't pause, no dive-roll, nothing new AT ALL

I blame it on the fact that it was produced by someone else than Re4(by the way was one of the BEST games EVER)

It's not a bad game, though.

It's not Amazing, It's not really good, It's not a disaster, it's not bad. Its just Good, that's it. It's just good.

Huge dissapointment.

How can you love re4, and be disappointed by re5? Especially because of the controlls. Run n gun would make it like any other shooter.

You couldn't run and shoot in RE4 either, which you claim is one of the best games ever. Personally, I think RE5 is a great game. It's not as revolutionary as RE4, but I didn't expect it to be.

He has a Gears 2 avatar....he is probably expecting the game play to be like gears 2. Where you can run and shoot and duck and roll... People just have to understand RE games are not built to do that.

RE5 is one of the best XBox 360 games released so far this year. The characters and story are great, the graphics look amazing, and it has a LOT of replay value. It does live up to the hype. My disappointment from RE5 were the controls. The controls don't suck, they are just ok. They aren't awful, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement. Afterall, this is a 2009 game from Capcom which gave us games like Devil May Cry and Street Fighter. Once again, the controls for RE5 are ok, but Capcom can definitely do much better next time around. It's not a huge gripe or a troubling issue. I believe there is a lot of room for improvement though.

You dont play fps games anymore? I mean, since they are practically the same as those from the 90s, just with better graphics.

another mindless gears fan mad that all games arnt like gears (which is a horrible game anyway imo) RE5 is essentially RE4 with new characters, new story, better save system, better graphics, co-op, I am a huge re4 fan (it was the reason i got a gamecube) and loved re5!

I thought it was a great game. I stated over again immediately after playing through the first time and I'm on my 3rd time through now, I dont remember dong that for a game before. I agree that it was a little disappointing when (spoiler) the zombies had guns at the end. It didnt feel as much like the old RE games (where things would pop out to scare you) but it was a great game. Also, infinite ammo is awsome. Bottom line is buy it. The demo didnt do it much justice you need to play the entire story to really appreciate it.

I agree with the guy above, Gears fans are mindless.

Anyway, I was a little dissapointed, still loved the game, but the whole co-op factor made the game less tense.

The whole gaming industry nowadays is a huge disappointment due to the Financial crisis, but take a look at RE5 I believe that it is the best available at least from the graphics point of view no one can deny that it has unbelievable graphics design .I just finished the games it is not so bad,oh yes have you noticed that there is no typewriter nor puzzles and as always lack of ammunition.

Whilst it isn't the revolution for the franchise that 4 (one of the greatest games of all time)was it is a polished,

slick and infinitely satisfying ride. I don't neccesarily need new stuff in a game as long as the stuff that is there

is done as well as RE5 does it.

If you want to see a reallydisappointing update to a previously great franchise try playing Silent Hill:Homecoming.

I can see why you're disappointed. Most gamers expect sequels to be better than the last, and it is always disappointing when those expectation are not fulfilled.

I too, think that RE4 was far better; it was revolutionary for the series, it had more "oh sh*t" moments, and it was a superior all-around experience and everything was new...and it's hard to 1-up something like that.

But, what can you expect from a sequel without reinventing the wheel again, which they already successfully achieved from the previous game?

They tried to spice it up with questionable gameplay mechanics, some of which I didn't care for, like an ammo-wasting AI partner, or a less user-friendly "backpack", but they also implemented the online experience and more reasons to replay the game, and I think they pulled off a successful sequel.

Yeah, it wasn't as great as resi4, but it's one of the better games on the market right now.

I never got to play part four. Part five was fun to play though in my opinion a few times. I rented it . Did not purchase the game. Sent RE5 back yesterday for Godfather II coming out soon along with Riddick. Godfather might purchase if I like it.

do people seriosly expect every new installment of a franchise to be revolutionary? re4 is one of the best games of all time, it had the wining formula. why would the change it for re5? teh fact that its similar to re4 doesn't change anything.

I'm playing through it now...So far, I'm not impressed. I've played all the RE games to date. RE 3: Nemesis was my favourite.

I'm at Chapter 3 in RE 5, and I'm still waiting for the intensity to pick up...I think this co-op play is really taking away from what I expect from the RE series. Even though you can't move and shoot and the same time, this still feels more like an action game than a survival/horror.

Resident Evil 4 took until about the half way mark to get really good too though, so I'll hold out and hope it gets better.

That's like saying you would be mad if you won 5,000 bucks in a lottery instead of winning 50,000 last year. Either way it's awesome. I didnt expect it to be as good as RE4, but it still looked awesome.

I was disappointed with RE5. I didn't mind the controls, in fact I actually like them. I didn't like it because it just didn't have the same feel as RE4. RE4 was epic, had a great story that kept me engaged, it was scary at times keeping me on my toes, and I really liked Leon as a character. RE5 just feels like another stupid action movie, the story sucks, it's never at all scary, and I really didn't like Chris or Sheva.

Yeah, all these people are complaining about the controls...? They've clearly never played a Resident Evil game before. Seems like most 360 players want everything to play like Halo or Gears - if not - it's not good. That's bs...

You should never expect to jump into a series late into its lifespan, and get it down on the first try.

This is part of the reason I haven't played Fallout 3 yet...I never played Fallout before.

It's like when Street Fighter IV came out, and people were saying "This sucks....but I've never played SF before."

The controls for RE 5 are perfectly on par with what I'd expect from the RE franchise. They've always been that way. But the part of the game that's disappointing is the overall story and intensity. This game really lacks something every other RE had...

If this game DID happen to allow run and gun, I wouldn't have played it AT ALL.

Exactly man.

RE5 is nothing short of amazing. Just because you got so used to your "CoD4" doesnt mean every game has to have some of those characterisitcs. And we dont need and jump rolls to clear the game. Seriously, weres the intensity in running from infected strange people and shooting at the same time? It is what it is, and boohoo if you dont like it. If you dont like the fact that a SEQUEL is offering stuff that isnt very new, then go play something else.
