Is there anyway to back out of a lobby when people are voting, like they are clearly going to vote for a match type you don't want?

Or you could just stick through it and not screw your team over just because theres a game type or map you may not like.vashkeyvery much agree

Or Bungie could get smart and realize people don't want to play SWAT or Snipers when they sign up for Slayer.
Just a thought.

dont you find that comment slightly ironic? i mean if its getting chosen a lot then it would generally suggest that people do want to play it...?but luckily, bungie is still a step ahead of you and there is a SWAT playlis coming, probably a snipers one as well

It doesn't get chosen every time, but enough to make it annoying.
I didn't think this was even debatable, but when you have a game type that says Slayer, most people coming from Halo 3 aren't expecting SWAT to be thrown in there. Some people obviously like the one hit one kill type of play. I don't. I'm not perfect, I don't like being punished because my aim was off on my first shot. That's why I don't snipe. So how is it fair that people who obviously have an advantage can hijack the entire playlist?

lol hijack the playlist? i dont think this is a conspiracy against those who want regular slayer. and anways, its good practice, if your shot isnt dead on first shot, it soon will be ;)lol hijack the playlist? i dont think this is a conspiracy against those who want regular slayer. and anways, its good practice, if your shot isnt dead on first shot, it soon will be ;)chaoscougar1
Just because something is hijacked doesn't mean there is a conspiracy. I'm going to chalk it up to a lot of people enjoying the hardcore styles of the modern shooters and want to play that in Reach. Which is fine, just don't force me to play it as well.
Good practice though it may be, I don't want to play it. Simple as that.
Anyway, my point is, no one should be complaining about players leaving when they pick a playlist that some people find unpopular. I leave every single Snipers playlist, unless it's BTB Snipers. This is a Bungie screw-up that was brought up during the beta and they still haven't fixed it. Just like they haven't made the reticles darker against lighter backgrounds. Big thumbs down, Bungie.

hahahahaha are you joking? so you are saying, if you dont get what you want then quit? that has to be one of the sillyest comments i have ever heard for a few reasons. 1: People dont chose a gametype based on what OTHER people like, 2: there is rarely a gametype which every player likes and is very good at 3: Just because you dont like it, doesnt give you a legitimate reason to leave.
Its not a Bungie screw up, its a player mentality screw up ;)

chaoscougar1
First off, why are you making statements(1 and 2) that are quite obvious?
Secondly, why should I play a game-type I neither like nor am I good at? That's a legitimate reason to leave.
Now that doesn't have to happen if Bungie makes playlists just for SWAT(which they're doing) and for Snipers.
There isn't anything wrong with my mentality. I know what I'm not good at and I stay away from it. On the flip-side, I don't want to subjected to it when all I want to do is play some good ol' Slayer.

Why bother going to the Slayer playlist then if you're just going to abandon your team? It pisses a lot of people off that they're a man short.
Sure you may not like what gametype it is, I hear that all the time, but never have I seen someone back out. This isnt COD where people can jump in and out.

No he has a point, it's a game played to have fun, whether you choose to accept that or not, and people shouldn't be forced to repeatedly play a gametype they don't like. Happened to me the other night in rumble pit, every fricken match ended up being infection. Don't get me wrong, I like infection. but sometimes I just want a good old free for all. I didn't quit any of the matches mind you, but I didn't enjoy the last few either, and ended up cutting my halo playing short due to not wanting to deal with it anymore. Separate play-lists could never hurt
[QUOTE="BLAS1AN"]I love STOCKPILE!I used to enjoy every playlist voted but that has worn off on me. I never quit but I lose interest in playing snipers and SWAT multiple times in a row. Stockpile was popular in the BETA...now its hardly played which saddens me

since launch I have only played 2 games of it in big team. is it played in team objectives?

I don't think I've gotten to play a match of it since the beta. Every time it shows up in matchmaking everyone votes for anything else.[QUOTE="airshocker"]

But I feel the same way as airshocker much of the time. There are people who clearly want to play normal Slayer and people who want to play SWAT or Snipers. I feel that regardless of which one you prefer, you would rather not play the other. So why mix these two groups of people if both sides get annoyed with one another? Make them separate play lists.I love STOCKPILE![QUOTE="Elann2008"][QUOTE="BLAS1AN"]

Not me, although the skull will disappear if they're in the scoring area, and they're pretty easy to miss when your adrenaline is pumping. I know it doesn't have to be a headshot. The skulls they carry are extra.[QUOTE="BLAS1AN"]

Because I want to shoot people with my assault rifle? Grab the sword and assassinate someone? Go on a shotgun spree cackling like a maniac while everyone curses my name? I can't do that in Snipers or SWAT.
You've never seen someone back-out? I don't believe that for a second. Who has been saying it's Call of Duty? Not me. I know people can't join back in on Reach. That's my team-mate's problem for picking a game-type I don't want to play. Sorry. :)
Clearly, you do not find them that obvious

CLearly I do because I just said they were obvious.
I don't care about anyone else when I'm playing Halo. Doesn't mean I'm going to TK people. Doesn't mean I'm not going to help my team-mates out when they're in a bind.
People need to realize that selecting the same game-type EVERY SINGLE TIME has consequences.
You can think it's childish all you want to. Until Bungie changes it I will continue to leave game-types I don't like.

Nothing happens if you quit to dashboard before the game loads. So I'm going to keep doing it until Bungie throws in that patch to remove SWAT from Slayer.
Why do you lol and then type hahahahahaha? Don't they mean the same thing? :P

How am I not understanding? Please elaborate. Because I think I understand quite well: If they pick SWAT, I leave. I understand that the majority has chosen to play SWAT, but I don't want to, so I leave.
They are fixing it, in case you forgot. So I'm not alone with feeling this way about the game types. :)

lol because you decided to remove your quote where i highlighted your point of 'you always help your team when in a bind', not the punishment you receive if you quit, but well done on taking that comment completely out of context and the incorrect way

i dont care whether you dislike the gametype, no one can like every gametype, what i dislike is the fact you think its completely ok and fair if you quit because you dont like it. Play rumble pit where you wont disadvantage anyone because 'you dont feel like playing this gametype'lol because you decided to remove your quote where i highlighted your point of 'you always help your team when in a bind', not the punishment you receive if you quit, but well done on taking that comment completely out of context and the incorrect way

I really don't care if my leaving screws over the team. In the long run, I'm playing this game for me. I can't change how people are going to vote, but I sure as hell can leave a lobby if it's a game-type I hate. If you don't like it, tough. :)
