It's not actually a "bubble shield" it doesn't protect them from anything but air assaults (supposedly)...with simply a counterattack measure. It's all radars and sensors...The guy who originally posted the "Can I purchase a bubbleshield" thread compared it to the one in Halo 3 and your link doesn't suggest a viable comparison.:DMsCortana
but i bet this is something not everyone saw it and not everyone see's everyday so it is intresting IMOXxSTILL_BORNxXOf course...any technology that will enable our troops to be safeguarded on any level is a major accomplishment and should be a focal point!!
They are developing plasma based shields to protect the space ship that will take people to Mars from Solar Radiation. So it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. Really.msjr78
is that official information? :P

Seems like Star Trek inspired a lot of things. The flip phone (Kirk's communicator), the blue tooth (Uhura's ear piece) and now star ship shields. Now all we need is the holodeck. Which is not that far off itself.[QUOTE="killerfist"][QUOTE="msjr78"][QUOTE="killerfist"][QUOTE="msjr78"]They are developing plasma based shields to protect the space ship that will take people to Mars from Solar Radiation. Thus creating Star Trek. My girlfriend told me that she read about this theory at some point but I'm not sure where from.

No, I have not heard that one. I know he wanted to create a hopeful and idyllic future of humanity in Star Trek which is why he created a multicultural crew including a Russian, Asian and Black Woman. Pretty forward thinking in itself in the 60's. The thought behind adding Worf, a Klingon to the Next Gen crew was in the same light as adding a Russian to the orignal crew. Former enemies who we worked our differences with to work together for a common purpose. Please Log In to post.
