Really crucial question about achievements (please help)

This really only applies to me and a few others, but I had set up a Windows Live ID before I got Xbox Live. I had playing on a profile and had gotten a lot of achievements on Guitar Hero 3 and Overlord (some of which were REALLY, REALLY hard to get and took forever). I had rented both of those and returned them to Blockbuster. Now that I have Xbox Live, I'm hooked up on that Windows Live ID profile, but none of my achievements from those games are there.

If I eventually pick up Overlord (which I think I will do for Raising Hell), will my achievements all of a sudden spring into action on this new profile, or am I doomed to have to repeat all the achievements again?

If you switched gamertags then you are screwed. The only way to change gamertags without losings achieves is by paying Microsoft to do it for you before you actually switch.the_GUNN_man
