It's not that great. Only get it if you have an HDTV that supports 1080p and is also bigger than 50". And if you intend on downloading tons of movies and TV shows.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I would buy the elite, if only I had a HDMI TV, /cry..
Its really just for people who want tons of space for there movies and TV shows. Im fine with my 20GB still have about 9GB of space. Itll be more if I delete my Demo's.
For me, I would benefit from it. I have a 1080p HDTV with HDMI so yeah... But I recommend people to not get it unless you have the same reasons as I do.
Biggest weakness of the Premium 360 is arguably the small hard disk and lack of HDMI output, and the Elite will address these issues, so they are the main reasons for getting the system over the premium. You can argue the HDMI will make little tangible difference except to people who have a keen eye and an expensive big-screen HDTV. But HDMI is a tider solution, and the larger drive will stand you in good stead in the future. I get tired of deleting stuff all the time to make way for more content - I'd rather keep everything, but the 20gig drive is just too small.
samsung and pioneere make tvs that dont need hmdi for 1080p. hmdi is another sony scam, it's not needed unless you have a generic over priced sony that cant handle it.
