my GeOW disc cracked a couple of days ago and now iam not sure if i should buy it again or not, i also want to get Oblivion which sounds awesome but GeOW's online is pretty fun too. So anybody have some suggestions on whats worth buying now and which to buy later? thanx
If they are the same price, and I think they are, base it on the hours you think you would play them. Oblivion offers minimally 40 hours, and upwards into the hundreds. Gears offers 10 hours of single player, but infinite online.
I vote Oblivion, but by a narrower margin than the previous posts, primarily because you have already played GoW.

Well put... I liked Gears well enough, but get Oblivion... especially if you've already got Rainbow Six and SUPER especially if you've already played Gears.
Holy crapload batman we have the same thing my GeOW is broken because of the way i put it in the disc case now i Have to choose between it and oblivion but I'm addicted to GoW
I have both and while I did make Gears my GotY, Oblivion was my runner-up. Both are amazing, I already beat Gears of War 5 times. But I've spent about 200 hours at least in Oblivion.
But I think since you haven't played Oblivion that you should go for that game. Y'know, you'll love it a lot, and it'll take up so much of your time that eventually when you pick up Gears of War, it'll feel like a brand new game!
They are both Great great games as you can see they are rated the same on gamespot. well if you like RPG more and a game that drags you into it, then Oblivion, but no online play. If you like shooters then gears of war, and there is online play that can keep you busy for some time. I would say Gears, im bored of oblivion... finished all the quests and stuff.
If you were a big Gears fan, then get both, starting with Oblivion first.
And stop breaking your discs.
I'm kind of paranoid about my video games because of this sort of thing, so I usually tell non-gamers to slowly back away from the 360. They can manhandle my Xbox and PS2, 'cause those things are tough.
