I just bought a 360 off ebay that is locking up, frequently. It also seems that the play and charge is not connecting well to the controller. I can hold it at a certain angle to register the light.

First to say - I have an RMA from the place off ebay. Repair/Replace/Refund is their policy, in that order.

I contacted 8004myxbox, after an hr, when I finally expressed my frustration, I have a shipping box coming to me to send back my previously unregistered xbox to M$. They will pay for repairs or replace.

My questions - what chance do I have of getting a falcon chip'd xbox from M$? Ive seen posts from those who are on their 4-6th. I previously owned an xbox that had no problems.

Will I have a better chance of getting a non-screwed up xbox if I send it back to the ebay-retailer?

Any advice is welcome.

Send it to MS. They're you're best bet. Don't bother with some eBay store; if MS is going to pay for the repairs/replacement (as long as the warranty seal is intact), then let them do it.

This si true, also MS may give you a new X360 where as this Ebay retailer will prob just give you another dud one or try and fix the already broken one.

Did you buy from a powerseller or a home etailer?

If you bought from a powerseller you might want to try to return to them first.

I hear ya - it was just such a good deal - I thought that it might be too good to be true but other people had good experiences with them.

I would say go the Microsoft route, because I have never had any problems with them and all of my friends have never had any problems with them.

Be sure to leave negative feedback as well :)

Hard to say what your chances are of getting back one with a Falcon as I doubt most users on these boards (including myself) know MS' repair operations procedures/methodes regarding parts. However I firmly believe you have a much higher chance of getting a fixed refurbished Xbox360 from MS then from an Ebay user. MS has repaired thousands of 360s.

What warranty sticker do I need to look for to see if they have opened the box or anything? I know that M$ said it was a clear sn and they registered it for me.
