Recommended USB3.0 HDD's for External Storage?

Hello all, I know USBS3.0 HDD's work, as External storage. I was just curious, are there any recommended drives to pick up? Speed is a plus, so I will gladly pay a bit more for faster loading.

I know also that places like GameStop sell some external drive, I just want to know what you all use.

I did a bit of research of my own.

And Seagate seemed to have a higher failure rate.

So I went with Western Digital 4tb, I bought it from best buy.

In terms of speed, just about anything is going to be faster than your internal storage.

X360 the most the console recognizes is 2 TB

X1 up to 4 TB

Western Digital for any.

The X1 limit is 16TB on the external drive. I have a 4TB WD MyBook, and it's been working good. The 3.5" drives are usually faster.

I use a 1TB HGST Touro 7200RPM drive for my Xbone... could be a bit bigger, but the speed is good.

Simple rule to follow. Is it 7200RPM? No dramas.

So pretty much, an 7200RPM drive is a good idea? If so, that's easy enough. =P

@busterfriendly: Same model and size I have, love it, works great.

Seagates have large HDDs at an affordable price, however I hear they're notorious for breaking down (see someone else mentioned it too).

I got a Western Digital 2TB for like $100 from Fry's, it's nice and small (sometimes see them on sale for $80), and now WD is marketing a brand toward gamers and specifically Xbox One (I'm curious what the data transfer rate on those are). Some argue it makes loading faster since it's not limited by SATA2 data bottlenecks and the potential of USB 3.0 being greater, I haven't noticed this myself but it's not slower either for me. I hear it frees up local memory keeping the UI running smooth. I can hook up a 2nd USB 3.0 later so hopefully by then they'll have one with improved speeds to really show a performance edge in using them.

Got me a 5TB Seagate, so far so good.

@SecretPolice: I've had the 4TB Seagate since HDD support came out, no issues with it, except that option in power settings that says "turn off devices-hdd when off instant -on", or something along those those lines, that didn't work well and HDD would act up after I would turn off my machine. It uses external power supply so maybe that's why....basically its not an issue however my HDD basically remains on while my console is turned off, in Instant On mode. Will probably reduce its lifespan but it was cheap, so its already lasted me a long time so far, and load times are faster on some games, no real complaints.

@Alucard_Prime: Cool and I never touched any settings but my 5TB Seagate turns off a sec or two after the console turns off. Been great having all that extra room for GWG games. :)
