It is my understanding that your profile is saved on Microsoft's servers. If you recover your Gamertag on a friend's console, play some games/get some achievements, then come home, your console will not even let you sign into Live without recovering. Once you update on your console, all the achievement's you earned at your friend's place will be there. I have done exactly this one time, and everything worked fine.

Palantas cannot be held liable for any damages caused by following his advice that is based solely on his personal experience and not actually reading any manuals/xbox.com or performing any sort of scientific analysis.

Yes, so long as you don't earn any achievements offline between recovering.

Just an FYI: account recovery is not meant to be used to transfer your profile between consoles. Use of a memory card is recommended.

as far as I've been able to tell, MS wants to sell more memory cards. that's why they warn again recovering your profile on other 360s. I recover my profile back and forth from a friends 360, in total, about 6 times a week. Nothing ever goes wrong.

Maybe MS should allow a gamertag to be on more than one 360 if they don't want people to use account recovery to transfer gamertags.

hey so i recovered my gamer tag on my xbox 360 the other day thinking that i had to to go online or something, and it took away all my achievements and everything i'd done in the past month or so, like on the hard drive it says the save files are still there but when i play a game it wont let me load from any place the iv already beaten, is there a way to get all my stuff back?
