Red Dead Redemption patch doesn't help me?

So I just booted up Red Dead and downloaded the patch,which I'm assuming was supposed to fix multiplayer connectivity issues. It doesn't really help me as I still can't get into a game. At this point I think it must be to do with my own connection, should I forward ports or something to try to change my NAT settings? Any suggestions would be helpful, I'm just trying to get all the achievements in this game and a few of them are online related.

There was a patch supposed to come out this week. I signed in, booted up the game and I got an update. Didn't do much for me, but it's certainly there.

Hi, There was a patch released this morning that was to address several issues. Among them was connectivity issues that some players were still reporting. If you are still experiencing these issues, I urge you to check your NAT settings (on 360, selecting "Test Connection" under your network settings in the dash will reveal if you have a strict or moderate NAT setting). If either of the above, I suggest you consult Microsoft's support page, which has details as to how to best open the NAT settings for your particular router. Best, -RS

Yes it did, i just did twin rocks on my own before and i got like $300, altough this means people arent just going to be going on RDR exp farming instead they can actually interact with other players kick back and mess around instead :)
