Original is insanely better, but you kinda ruin the story by playing Undead first as its just key points and characters from the original game. It also spoils a very important detail. Before you ruin it id stop and play the original first.

Undead is a neat idea, but the game was designed to be more of a cover and fire game standing still. Running around doing melee and stuff really show hows clunky the controls are and where all the bugs are.

Wait a second here, RDR Undead is a whole other game than RDR? Really, I thought it was just a DLC Add-on to the game.

You can buy it stand-alone without in need of the original.

You'll be able to appreciate Undead Nightmare better if you play the original.

Agreed, for those who don't own RDR at all, I'd get the original, then the 20 dollar pack that has all the DLC.

The problem is that most of the enjoyment from Zombie is from playing the original first. RDR has much better combat than he expansion pack as well. But it is a little unfair comparing a $10 DLC to a $60 game.

You must play the original first, the character building helps make the undead nightmare better because you understand who the characters are and what they are like.

Imagine GTA IV: Episodes From Liberty City :). I haven't got Undead Nightmare yet, but I want it. I will have to get it after Christmas though, and I will buy the disc version. I will have plenty of new games to keep me going for a while at Christmas though, but Undead Nightmare is DEFINATELY on my list for early 2011 :D. But yeah, I'd play the original first :).

No not at all. Don't mistaken this as your 2-hour long DLC you see often. It ranges from 5-12 hours depending on how you play.
