ok, my friend's 360 has a red light on his power brick, but no red lights on the 360. So i let them used mines to see if it was their power brick, but it still lite up red when powered on with my power brick...
Bad outlet - improperly grounded, too variable voltage, too much/not enough voltage, I'm not sure. Is it hooked up through a surge protector? Try it on another outlet, preferably on a different circuit in the house.

Don't switch the power bricks because they may have different voltages (you can find the voltage on the bottom of the power birck). i got a red light on the power brick when i didn't plug in the power cable at the back of the power brick fully. so i'd suggest you try that. sorry if it doesn't help.
