Okay so I'm playing Halo 3 and in the middle of the third mission my 360 shuts off and I get the three red rings.....soo I turn it back on and kept playing....nothing happened....I stopped after I finished the mission....but should I get a new Xbox or did it just overheat for a few min???
yep..it happend to me. Does anyone know how long it takes for microsoft to fix it? Also, I am trying the towel trick so how many more days am I going to get out of my 360?
If it happend once it will happen again and the next time it will be permannet, so just play a game that you have already beaten and let it come back then just send it in. When you get your 360 back or when they send you a new one just finish halo 3.
Which lights lit up? Sometimes you get a full ring if the game freezes. I had this issue with my 360 but it wasn't the rrod it was a differnt patter and was a harddrive error, all I had to do was replace my harddrive and the problem was solved. I recommend to check the lights or the error message and then compare it to MS support tips online to figure out what you rporblem is before youh decide to send your console away for repairs
Yea I called 1-8004myxbox and the dude said it was definentaly dead....so theyre going to send me a box...I'm gonna ship it....they are going to send me a new one.....he said if it happens again I get a 12 months free live card!
wow its sounds like u didnt even finish the fight and u had to send ur 360 in... i would be pretty pissed if i were u. now u have to wait like 2 or 3 weeks. srry man i feel for u

agreed, do it as fast as possible, i didnt even get the chance to beat the first mission before mine crapped out on me, i think its got someting to do with halo itself

OMG the exact same thing happened to me, i was playing Halo 3 it froze i turn it on but the three rings appear
The reason for the RLOD is because after time the motherboard warps and looses contact. It was a faulty design. There is a very siimlple solution to re-enforce it again with a few bolts and washers. But, if you attampt to do this yourself, your warranty will be void.
