The red ring is annoying yet acceptable because all you have to do is unplug your 360 for like 5 mins and it works fantasticalli after that.

Yup - for a couple days. If you get the RROD you need to send it in. Sorry to burst your bubble - but if it happens it means the hardware failed. It may be intermitent at first but will start happening more and more frequently - so you might as well get it taken care of.
PS - I think this is the wrong forum for this - the mods might not like it, but doesn't matter to me - but i think it should be in the RROD (Broken 360) thread.

Enjoy your temporary fix for like 12 more minutes of gameplay, then it's back to the RROD for you. (not trying to be mean it's just the truth)
Either that or it's a power brick problem and not the real RRoD. That's terminal. An overheated power brick isn't.
To the TC: If your genius idea really worked, do you think that MS would have set aside one billion dollars to cover the possible cost of repairing everyone's Xboxes? No, they'd have sent out an email or put a bulletin on their website telling people to turn off their 360s and turn them back on if they got the RRoD.

Ah, you might get lucky on your first RRoD occurences...there will be a time where resetting won't work anymore...I know, it happened to me.
No it doesn't. Maybe sometimes for some systems, but not for all. The RRoD is only to be feared if you've had your 360 longer than 3 years and the warranty is expired.

No more warranty for my unit, but I don't fear it since I know how to temporary fix it...I guess that's all whats left for my 360...temp fix all the way. But I'm glad to say the last time I fixed it (3 attempts already) it's has been 2 weeks w/o RRoD. So hope's not all lost for non-warranty RRoD'ed units.
