well... i need all the confidence i can get lol. and i figured i could possibly be one of those who gets lucky :D!indian_boy90
well if u wait a while there making a chip that should fix the problem that makes the 360 overheat and fries everything not sure how soon though
I want to buy a 360 since the price dropped again but I want to know how common is the red ring of death problem is. A friend of mine just had his break down and if I get one will it have the same problem?tsylord
Well, the reason ROD comes is because it overheats, and there are ways to prevent that, since the 360 heats so much it's good to have the power brick on an open area, because it heats up fast and that can cause ROD (but not often so don't freak out). So if you keep it on your table instead of under it you will be doing something to prevent it, there are probably some other things too.
It's the luck of the draw I would say as far as the likely hood of you getting them.
I purchased my core on 12/18/05 and it just died two weeks ago.
I sent it off to get repaired, free of charge from microsoft.
Remember there is a reason why they extended the warranty to three years..........;)
