Refurbished 360 won't update.

Hey guys,

My 360 red ring'd about a week and a half ago, I sent it in and got it back today a few hours ago (quickest I've ever heard of someone getting it back lol). I plugged my old harddrive in and plugged my 360 into my router and started it up. When I went to sign online to recover all of my downloads, it said that I needed to download an update to continue, but then it'll try for a minute and come back saying "cannot download update".

I went to test my connections and it gets down past IP and DNS and that stuff to where it says 'Xbox Live' and then stops on that. It currently says the following:

"Xbox Live (Failed)

This test verifies that your console can contact Xbox LIve. IF your console does not pass this test, check your IP confirmed, DNS Verified, MTU, and ICMP tests. A failure on any of these tests will prevent you from signing into Xbox LIVE. IF your console passes all of these tests and still cannot sign in to Xbox LIVE, verify that your account information is accurate and up to date.

If you tried these suggests and your console still does not pass this test, go to www.xbox.com/setup or call Xbox Customer Support."

I don't know what to do, can you guys help me out? Thanks in advance!

did you try manually assigning an IP address and then putting the address into the DMZ of your router?

If you don't know what I'm talking about go over to portfoward.com they have step by stey instructions for the 360
