Ive been looking into getting an xbox360 and was wondering if getting one from ebay is safe. Has anyone ever purchased one from there? If so, did you have any problems?

Why a refurbished one? You can get a brand new boxed premium for like 460 bucks off ebay. And just because someone might have had a bad experience doesn't mean you will, just buy one from a reputable dealer. No different from buying from a shop really. It's safe to say your not going to get screwed if the seller your buying off has sold 50 other 360's.

Umm... the 360 is unreliable when its new.Buying a refurbished one is just silly, IMO. I suggest you buy a 360 in Gamestop or some other place and get an extended warranty.

Bad idea a new 360 has a 40% chance of RROD and a refurbished one? Probably 60%. Get a new one.

You're going to get scammed. Why would you buy one from people who occupate ebay? Knowing how unreliable the Xbox 360 is in the first place?

Without the falcon chip the official estimate is 1 in 3 or 33%.

if not 40% pretty close get a new one with free product replacement. also make sure it is born dated dec. to current date. since the new ones have the falcon chip and supposedly reduces the risk of rrod.

I think its higher. Not bashing I own 2 360's but my brother works for ups and delivers 3 to 4 boxs a day. I live in a small town in TN so despite what you hear 360's do die at a higher rate than stated by M$

Interesting, pretty rediculous.

Anyway, I don't think theres any problem with buying a new-boxed 360 from ebay as long as its from a reputable store like I said. They're just like any other shop, except they don't pay for a physical store front so they can charge less. I'd stay the hell away from refurbished ones though.

Just get a brand new one, a second hand one could easily get RROD.

new or used doesnt matter. the used one where once new remember so it doesnt matter if they are likely going to the get the RROD. Cant you just send the thing in and get it fixed anyway. The thing Im more concerned about a used 360 off of ebay is why they are selling it in the first place. Cuz its damaged? No longer works at at?

So its no different from buying it from Gamestop or ebay.
