My xbox is being shipped back to me right now from repair, and I had a question about the warranty.

I know you're supposed to get either 90 days, or the remainder of your current warranty, whichever is the greater.

When I checked the warranty status on my console (different serial number than the one I sent for repairs) It stated an expiration date of 1 year from the date they shipped it back to me. Does this mean I am getting a brand new console?

Anyone know?

you will never get the same console back that you sent in. but i think everytime you receive a console from ms, you get a brand spankin 3 year warranty on it for rrod. my friend sent his in, in december, and then again last week and he was told its a new warranty

That's not true. The last time I sent it in, I got the exact same one back...still broken too....

And your 3 year warranty doesn't renew every time you get a repair done...it will always be 3 years from the date of purchsae of your original console if they send you a refurbished console. It may be different for if they send you a brand new one.

You should call them again....

The launch consoles are even still covered for RROD....it hasn't been 3 years until November 22, 2008.

I have been without my 360 for over 2 months now. I sent it in, they sent it back and it still had RROD...so I had to send it back again right away.....I should be gettin it back on Thursday this week...

They did give me a free quick charge kit for the inconvenience, as well as 2 1 month xbox live gold cards....

As much as this sucks...I still love the 360 though.....don't regret it for a minute.

It's absolutely impossible for your warranty to have expired. Like I said...even the original launch consoles are still covered for RROD...it hasn't been 3 years yet. Call and get it fixed dude.....It has not expired.

Your console's 1 year warranty is for everything except RROD...RROD on your console is covered until Nov 2009....

If they keep refusing, then ask to speak to a supervisor....just keep fighting for it man....it's worth not having to pay the $170 repair fee.

Anyone actually know the answer to my question?

Anybody who has had RROD and gotten a brand new console?

Bulova

I received a console back, not new but newer than the one I had sent in.

You receive a one year warranty on a returned RROD console. If the remainder of your current warranty is greater than one year, than that applies instead.

All launch consoles were covered for three years from the manufacture date for the RROD, regardless of warranty. No sure if that applies to current production though.
