Replacing a game with the "Platinum" edition

will replacing a standard game with a platinum edition (such as Forza 2)...will my saved progress be retained from the regular version and transfered over if i play the Platinum version

Yes. Only game I know that it's different for is Lost Planet.

the saves will stay when you buy a Platinum Hit.

no need to replace with a platinum hit, because they are the exact same game, one is just cheaper.

Yes all platinum games are the same they just sometimes have extra content
