Resident Evil 5' Delayed Until '09

Put on your waiting hat and go eat a bowl of waiting rice: It looks like Resident Evil 5 won't be coming out until 2009.

The latest issue of game mag Famitsu reports that Capcom's producer Jun Takeuchi said Resident Evil 5 will not be making a 2008 release. He also said that a 2010 release for the scary PS3 and 360 game would be too late. We used our awesome power of deduction to zero in on the year 2009.

By that time, we should have flying cars, rocket packs and that Back to the Future 2 hoverboard to enjoy, so maybe we won't want to play videogames. Did you ever think of that, Jun Takeuchi?!

Meh. In all honesty, I don't care about release dates anymore. I used to, but because they come and go without the games being available most of the time, they seem silly. I remember reading in a mag that Two Worlds was supposed to hit at the end of May and here were are mid-July and the game's release date is 7/31 (roughly).

I like to walk into a store and say, "Oh! I didn't know this game was out!", rather than, "What do you mean the games been pushed back to fall. . . .of next year!?

Its hard for a game to be backwards compatible with the Xbox 360 when it didn't come out on XBox.

Consoles often have 5 to 6 life cycles. While another PGR or GeOW is entirely likely, GTA 4 had a 3 year development cycle, as did Halo 2 and 3.
