Pretty much what the title says. If possible, review the game for me and tell me what you personally think of it. It looks interesting to me, but i've heard so many mixed reviews that i don't know what to think. Most are just going to say "Rent the game" and there are so many other games that i want to rent at the moment. So right now, i'm deciding if it's even worth it.

Bottom line, is it worth it? and why or why not?

no, very short story, the game feels sloppy and thrown together and multiplayer is an unbalanced joke, I'd be surprised if there are more than 50 people who play it on a regular basis.

It was alright. I thought a 3rd Person tactical shooter set in the Resident Evil Universe would be epic... I was so wrong! It's clunky, with out-dated graphics, stiff character animations, and lackluster gameplay. That being said, it is a fun time killer and it IS an interesting take on what couldve happened during the Raccoon City Incident... I rented it so I was happy with it, but I wouldve been very frustrated if I wouldve bought it for $60 like I had planned. I had it pre-ordered but thankfully, I needed a little gas money a couple days before it came out so I cancelled my pre-order. If you rent it, fine, but do NOT spend over $15 for it.

Yeah, i heard about the Multiplayer. Was a disappointment too because it was one of the games i was looking forward to getting. Then the reviews started coming out and i was like "Ehhh....i don't know." well thanks for the input :)

I bolded a lot in that statement. I am going to comment over the whole post, but the bolded is what i'm mainly responding too.

Yeah, everything about the game pretty much looked good to me when i saw the trailers. The timeline, the setting, the plot, it all seemed to make one of the best games i had ever seen. But all i've ever heard about it is bad things, except for a bunch of my close game whom are all like "OH EM GEE! You should totally get it." haha. So it is fun though? Like even a slight bit? I've heard there are different characters you can be and stuff so that sounds like fun. But idk. And, i noticed it has been getting huge price cut after price cut at my local gamestop. But yeah, it was a game i was excited for, so hearing this stuff makes me sad. lol. But thanks for your input, i really do appreciate your opinion on the matter.

Hated it, felt like a slap in the face even though I liked RE5 which is pretty much a slap in the face to the entire series. Want my money back dammit.

Yeah, you have the option to play as several characters from the U.S.S. Theyre all decent, and the customizable weapons/abilities is a cool touch, but the characters themselves have no backstory and personality. I found myself playing as Vector throughout the campaign simply because he looked badass. I know they have released DLC missions where youre playing as the United States military, but I personally believe that shouldve all been in the base product. I did have fun with the game though. Alot of people hated it, and I rarely ever agree with reviews but the reviews for ORC got it right on the money. Like I said, it's a good time killer but unless its under $15 when you decide to buy it, then youre wasting your money. And I might also recommend that if you do decide to buy it, no matter how much it costs, buy it used so if you dont like it, you can just take it back. The single player campaign is easily finished in a nights playtime, and the multiplayer was okay but I felt like they just tacked it on. Slant Six doesnt have a good track record but with Capcom backing this game up and with it being Resident Evil, I thought it would be a great game. I do plan on buying this game but Im not going to buy it anytime soon. Not only because it's still $20, but also because my girlfriend and I just had a little boy last month, so obviously my playtime has been cut back quite a bit, lol. Now, if you'll excuse me, Im going to play Halo: Reach untill my son wakes up lol. No sense in going to sleep when he'll be waking me up in an hour! Happy gaming!

Its nice to see RE from a different perspective.

Non-canon though.

The game is OK but it has no replay value like RE4 or RE5. For me, I liked the idea of squad shooting and the atmosphere in the game looked fine to me. Although it has no replay value once you beat the game. You may try playing the whole campaign with each single character just to see how it feels like.

Alright, i was originally planning on responding to each individual. But so many people have posted on here and i really wasn't expecting this many opinions. So i would like to make this response to the general public. Lol.

Thank you all for Responding, I really do appreciate each and every one of your opinions. And after a lot of thought, i have decided that i am going to eventually play the game. It is one of the recent games that has caught my attention. And although it's multiplayer is junk as many have said and it doesn't really have a replay value, i will try it out one day when it reaches the 10 or less bin, and believe me...the way its price has been getting cut, it won't be long. I probably won't replay it over and over. I mainly would like to play it based on the fact that it is a different look at the resident evil. I accept that it is poorly made, which is why it isn't at the top of my to do list.

After all of your feedback, although disappointed, i do appreciate the help you guys have given me by dodging this bullet. Thanks again.

I actually pre-ordered this, which means that I brought this full price. I completed the campaign and enjoyed it and also spent many weeks and hours playing the multiplayer! Does it have bugs and glitches? yes it does have some, but to me they are easily looked past because the game is fun. Honestly, I was playing the multiplayer as much as I do with games like Gears of War for a few weeks and I will go back to it at some point. I also got the entire DLC for the other campaign because I enjoyed it so much. I think that this game is really underrated, but that's just my opinion. I loved the gamemodes as well, and it's great (just like Gears) to be able to pick between characters. While the game is a bit buggy, it doesn't bother me at all. I got it full price, spent many hours on it and was not disappointed :). I spent so many hours on it that I actually got most of the achievements too. Will be going back to it as well, of course.

Same here, pretty much covered most of what I was going to say aswell.

Also, people are overreacting about Operation Raccoon City, everyone was expecting a full-fledged Resident Evil title and quite frankly, everyone who is disappointed with it was their OWN fault for generating so much hype thinking it'll be the best thing since sliced bread. It's not the best game no, but it's not a bad game either. Anyone who thinks this game is bad were obviously over hyping it. Hype for a game never turns out well.

Also, gamers these days expect no less flawless.

I bought it at the full price AND bought the DLC, and I didn't even think it was an amazing game, I just thought it was really really fun to play. Not amazing, but still a very good game.

In fact, the Spec Ops DLC blew the original out of the water, especially the last chapter, felt like a final Resident Evil chapter a LOT.

The online isn't amazing, but I can't speak much for it because I'm not really a multiplayer type of person. But the campaigns are awesome.

There's also a lot of things about the game that people completely IGNORE, which really made the game what it was, such the bleeding function, getting infected, these two things added strategy to the mix instead of just a run and gun RE game. Almost every firefight was filled with zombies and humans making it chaotic.

This game was patched anyway, so 99% of the bugs that people are moaning about have been rectified.

Your AI companions actually shred through enemies and help you out a lot. The AI wasn't even initially bad, because I managed to beat the game on Professional with AI only.

It's cheap now aswell, so I'd say get it.

NirdBerd, you have some great points there. While I was really hyped for this game (in my case, it's more so the fact that I couldn't wait for it because it's a RE title and it looks like a fun Third Person Shooter similar to Gears of War, which is a more recent favourite series of mine in the last few years but with a few twists and the fact it is back in Raccoon City), I knew it probably wasn't going to be the BEST RE game of all time, but I did have good feelings that it was going to be a fun one. I feel the same way as you. While it's not particularly groundbreaking (to be fair it's easy to come across a great game, but not so much to come across a groundbreaking one these days), it did have some awesome moments that felt a bit nostalgic as it was back in Raccoon City, and it never felt boring or like it was dragging on or anything. Really, I kept thinking of it as a mix of two of my favourite series - Resident Evil and Gears of War, and that made it awesome. It is also really fun. At times when I was playing it I kept thinking to myself if it was better than RE5 or not. The Multiplayer modes probably are and not sure if the campaign is or not. There's just a few things that make RE5 a bit better, such as some bosses, the RE heroes (Chris, Wesker etc.), but I love a lot of things about ORC. I also agree about the Spec Ops DLC, I think I enjoyed it more than the original campaign as well, although I would have to replay them both to refresh my mind (they have both sort of gone together in my mind as they were similar). I personally think the online was great fun, but then again I also like playing online. I was playing that for weeks! I still have the Nemesis mode to get actually, so there's still new content for me for this game :D. The game is definately worth it. It's just a really fun game!

I was hyped as SH!T for RE ORC so was disappointed a bit but what can you do.
