We got to see one skirmish map from Resistance 2 called Scotia, which appeared to have a 45-player limit at the event but will purportedly support the full 60 in the finished game. The large, open map was set in a forest environment punctuated by log cabins and machines to traffic large trees through the level. The idea of the map is to advance to control points around the level and gain control, although we also saw how you would get secondary objectives to reinforce fellow squads when they come under fire. We also saw some of the shields that you'll get in the final game, one of which bends around the front of your body as you move, and another that's bigger and flatter but that has to be deployed in a static location. Both shields have a similar visual effect to Halo 3's bubble shield, and they looked like they were fairly integral to your success online. Other weapons included a grenade that you could throw that spiked up and exploded to send spikes in every direction.

cant think of their own weapons wow u suck

Don't worry about it. Resistance sucked anyway. 60 People on PSN is going to be a failure as well. I have a hard enough time with 8 people games...

Killzone/MGS will have more promise.

Wow, so Halo invented shields? And for the record, the first Resistance had those spike grenade things which came out before Halo 3. Either way, most first person shooters have similar elements. Does it really matter?

He's talking about bubble shields that you can throw. It's an item, and yea I think Halo might have invented them, I don't recall them used like that in another game, but I may be wrong.

Halo isn't exactly the most innovative game though...Just a random Sci-Fi shooter.

Resistance 1 already had backlash grenades, which would create a protective bubble shaped shield around the player and reflect enemy fire back at them.

Youre an idiot.

Every game copies idea's from other forms of media. Just shut up.

Resistance is better than Halo 3 anyway.

Harsh. I don't hold Halo in high regards as being a great game, but I think Resistance is even lower.

Well, I cant stand when these idiots think 1 game copied another game just because it came out later. And I thought Resistance was awesome. Still play it too. Only PS3 game I still have.

I'm a Tekken man on my PS3, Resistance isn't a BAD game, but much like Halo 3 it just didn't do anything special for me.

But yea, you'd be hardpressed to find a Halo feature that hasn't been seen anywhere else.

Shouldn't you take that as a compliment?

You know, these extra little features all help a game.

It worked great in Halo, it'll work great in Resistance 2.

That's like complaining about CoD2 copying regenerating health from Halo: Combat Evolved.

Um Yeah... Resistance had a grenade that was similar the the Bubble shield and a spike grenade as well. Looks like your a little backwards there.

The title of this thread should be: Halo stole weapons from Resistance. Nice One.

That's any PS3 promise, but I'm getting used to that.

It's migrating to 360 now, Delays for Prototype, Too Human etc...
