Hey everyone! I thought I would make a thread about an excellent game that was far ahead of it's time, that I think alot of people have forgotten about. Call of duty 2. Call of duty 2 was a launch title for the Xbox 360. It was the First "Next Gen" Console FPS and it officially set the stage for FPS development on the Xbox 360. It was ported Originally from the PC. I think it's a shame that this game has basically been forgotten by what seems like everyone. Shoot, I can't even find Youtube videos on this gem anymore! So, on the behalf of my frustration with MW3, I decided to pop that sucker back into my 360, and give it a whirl after YEARS of not being played. This game, is much more difficult that Modern Warfare, or any of those call of duty games, because it does not have the same "Auto-aim" system that all the other Call of dutys have on Ps3 and 360. Veteran is quiet difficult to complete, and the story line is brilliant, well, because it's real stuff!! Watching the small video clips from the military channel in this game, really took me back to when I got this game years ago, back whenever this stuff was all the rage, and video games where constantly improving and blowing people's minds. I miss those days, I miss when Video games weren't so generic, and identical to all the rest! If you'd like some information about Call of duty 2, check it out on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty_2 You can also check out some pretty cool articles here on the Call of duty 2 wiki http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Call_of_Duty_2 Most Game stores usually have some pretty banged up used copies of this game for under 10 bucks, but if you can buy one still in the plastic on EBAY, I'm sure it'll be worth something a few years down the road!

blahahaha
1:WOW where did you get that from?
2: just typed call of duty 2 in youtube had no issue finding a video
3: the story is good because it's real stuff? WTF
I have had the game since launch and although I do agree it's a great game, I don't think it paved any paths.
It started a successful trend of games.. I don't think that there are many people who have 360 or ps3 that do not own a Call of Duty title. pjbabbitt112the reason cod is so big is because of cod 4 not 2

hell yes. good quality net code. dive roll mechanic. jet packs.
i loved it :D
Call of Duty 2 changed how we play first person shooters about as much as how Doom 2 did. A sequel which is nearly identical to its predecessor doesn't really change how we play them... the first one would. And yes, Perfect Dark Zero showed us the real future of first person shooters. I was the launching point of what would be a lot of years of s*** first person shooters. Although the skeletons in infection were quite awesome.

Never owned or played a CoD in my house, and i think my gaming life is better for it. Im not sure what the series is known for other than being the posterboys for recycling.
Phff, lets just put it this way, I remember going to the store right around the 360's launched and playing COD2. I left the store with no interesting in buying a 360 at the time, other games changed that opinion. The game looked decent for the time, but that was about it for me.
Rainbow 6 did way more to revolutionize FPS games by introducing cover and MP unlocks (which proved VERY influential on later CoD titles, 4 in particular). Unlike CoD 2, Vegas & Gears were the system sellers that pulled me and many of my friends in.Phff, lets just put it this way, I remember going to the store right around the 360's launched and playing COD2.
