So, after successfully playing my 360 since launch, it gave in. After playing Rainbow Six last night, it happened. Man, was I crushed....

So, to those of you that went through this, what can I do? Should I send it back to Microsoft? Should I just buy a new one? I don't have a lot of money, I am only a college student, What can I do? Is there a fee to send it to Microsoft? Today is the worst day ever.

And I was supposed to pick up MLB2k7 today! =(

The 360 is not designed to last more than 2 years. Open it up and look at it and you'll know why.

When you cram all that hardware into a small box, there is no way to prevent it from over-heating the components, even if the 360 is flat on the floor out in the open.

I stand mine up vertically since there are air holes on each side and give some breathing space and i put my fan almost right behind my 360 and it seems to be a bit cooler when feeling the back after each time im done playing and i have had the system since launch and i only got the red lights once and it was a loooooong time ago.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me...It happened actually when I started to play Rainbow Six...I had my 360 since the Christmas on launch year.

Dude...WTF is going on? I just got my XBox 360 a few weeks ago and now I am getting pretty worried. How can it only be designed to work for 2 years???? Thats insane. I am thinking about returning my Xbox now...$400+ accessories for something that will last 2 years? are they out of their minds? I really hope this is not the case...

There are different things you can do, but the ring of death lights up different sections for different hardware problems. So I'm guessing sections 1,3, and 4 are flashing red?
