So, I've seen a lot of videos posted of overheating your xbox 360, with towels leaving it on for 10-15 minutes. But what I don't know is that does it work most of the time? And does it in anyway damage your 360?

Thanks.

It's only a temporary fix... but I see no good in forcing any electronic device to choke in its own exhaust.

I have a friend who tried it, and it worked....for about one day, then back to the three red lights. As far as damaging it, I'm sure it does. Are you getting the three red lights? If so, call Microsoft because they extended the warranty on all consoles with the three red lights to three years.

My xbox 360 is a mess. The ring of death and stuff are coming and then I wsated $60 on a game, I put it in when the ring of death was coming it scratched it like a pancake. Tommrow I'm going to go to bestbuy and see what they can do.

Check and see if you have a Game Crazy near you. I had a monster sized ring around my Dead or Alive 4 disk and it wouldn't play. The scratch was so bad that you could feel it in the disk. I took it to Game Crazy and for about $2 they buffed the disk. They did such a good job that I couldn't even see the ring, and it played perfectly.

If that doesn't work, call MS. They'll send you a box w/ pre-paid postage, and will repair your system for free. The towel is never going to actually "fix" anything, and frankly it's be annoying to have to do like every day. Just get it fixed.
