I'm getting a 360, how often do the 360's burn out and get the internal system error thing. Are there any games that cause it more often/ are the elites better at not breaking. liberator927
If you're getting a 360, I would advise the Elite if you can afford it, just because they are newer, have the 120 gig harddrives, and HDMI ports. 360s do not die as quickly as some people say they do. I bought my 360 in September and haven't had a single problem with it. However, I would still advise buying a 2 year warranty (for about $70 I believe) from Xbox just in case. It's always a good idea to protect a good investment like this. Other than that, no games really cause errors, it's generally just a coincidence. Putting a game in the disc tray will not cause a hardware failure. As I said, buy a warranty just to be safe, and you'll be fine.
for a lot of people it breaks all the time so dont get your hopes.I just had mine get the 3 red lights a week after i got it back from microsoft. You might be one of the lucky ones that get a good 360.Who knows!MrPatriot12
It's actually a very small percentage of Xbox 360 owners. It's just that these few almost always talk about it, whereas those of us with perfectly fine 360s have no reason to make posts saying "My 360 still works!". I'm not saying yours didn't break, it probably did. You were just unlucky. Most 360s are fine.
I got my 360 about a month ago, got the "rings of death", followed all the steps, still got them... unplugged it for a while then came back plugged it in and it worked again... happened again for the second and third times the last two days... called microsoft and they are sending me the box to fix it. I'm a little disapointed that a 400 system has this problem, but it's just my luck.. my Wii also broke so I guess I should just stick to PC gaming!
With the problems I've had so far I would still highly recomend one, with Crackdown as a first game choice.
