Rock Band 1 songs from disc to RB2?

OK so i'm a bit confused? how can i put all the songs from rock band 1 onto my rock band 2? to be honest i was thinking of selling my rock band 1 game...can i sell it and transfer everything before i do or what?

The update that allows you to transfer the songs over to Rockband 2 is available now on Rockband.

so you need the rockband disc in order to update the songs? i just sold my copy so im guessing ill have to go rent it to get the songs onto rockband 2 or will there be something on rockband 2's disc that allows you to retrieve the songs?
