I'm seriously considering buying this game, but am really apprehensive because of the big price tag. Is it worth it? I can play the multiplayer 2 or 3 times a week with my friends, and the rest of the time will be playing solo or with my dad

Too expensive, don't care enough about GH to care about spending $200 and the better part of an afternoon tracking a copy down. GH was a good party game nothing else. Rock Band takes a good formula a little to far into being just weird.Ket87

I doubt even he knows what he talking abouthes probably one of those guys who thinks playing fake instruments is corny. can't please the ones who can't afford it and have to hate on it b/c every one else enjoys it.
any ways... its well worth it. if you can buy gh3 for $100 (single player right out the box) an extra $80 bucks for the drums and mic won't hurt. and you'll be able to play 2,3,4 players right away
It was worth it for me. I only get to play the single player most of the time, and the multiplayer very rarely and I still find it worth it. Playing guitar is fun, as is the drums. I'm very new to this genre so everything is still a bit tough for me (especially the drums), but I'm getting the hang of it.
Great game, honestly, and I find it well worth the price tag.

I doubt even he knows what he talking aboutIt seems like he wanted some opinions on it and I gave mine whats not to understand. i think Rock Band is overpriced for starters no video game is worth $200, and Guitar Hero was alright but nothing great and theres no need for Rock Band its taking an ok concept to an extreme. Even among gamers and how far out some are I think people who play Rock Band are just a little weird. Its one thing to be at a party playing Guitar Hero but its a different story when your sitting by yourself in your parents house jamming out on your toy drums.
Got that? Good.

Well opinions are like butts, everyone has one and no one thinks THEIRS smells.
Saying no game is worth $200 is assanine, its completely objective you can't decide whats worth it for some one else. maybe if you don't have the disposal income it isn't worth it. But people find things worth it based on their experiences and ability to fork over cash for things they find entertaining.
When I was growing up (80s) Air Guitar and Air Bands were a HUGE fad. I remember a talent show wasn't a talent show without a really good Air Band or Lip Synch group. So I have to disagree with you in regards to the appeal. Although I was orginally in the same camp with you until I actually played the game.
I also think your opinion in this thread is pointless because the OP wasn't asking for your cynical view on the genre of game but was asking people that enjoy this type of game whether or not it was worth the 169$ when he can pick up GH bundle for $100.
i just decided to go out and by rock band, absolutely no regrets payin the 200 that it cost. there is soooo much extra games you can get online (such as complete albums and **** that will keep this game fun for a long time. If you got an extra 200 to spend, i STRONGLY reccomend getting rock band, you most certainly wont be dissapointed.

You don't even have the game so how would you know enough about Rock Band to make such an opinion on it. You just don't like music games. And don't even tell me that you have tried it because if you're considering it weird, then you obviously didn't/
