the songs that are available to download and purchase for rockband cost way too much in my opinion. I would never consider payin 1.99 for a song when you can purchase a song in real life for $1. If they made them considerable cheaper I think you'd see a lot more people downloading new songs. I think the songs should be really cheap maybe .25-.50 per in order to get a lot more downloads. If they were that cheap I'd probably download all of them instead I'll never download a single one. Others opinions are appreciated.

I bet they will have some kind of deal on them eventually..just don't plan on that any time soon since the game was released last week.

i just feel like a majority of downloadable content these days is to expensive, even the new halo 3 maps when they come out will be like $10 which is ridiculous considerin the game was just released a few months ago. I think companies are going about it the wrong way, if you make it more affordable I think they will actually make more money because a lot more people would be willing to pay an affordable price. They seem to be goin after the hardcore gamers instead of the casual where in reality there is many more casual gamers and its not like you lose out on business of the hardcore gamers if you cater to the casual pricewise. You'll just benefit from sales to both.

They don't call them Micro$oft for nothing..These games are pretty hot right now and I'm sure MS is just trying to take advantage of that and offer the songs at that price to see how many people will actually pay that much..and i'm sure many people will.

I don't know why people think everything should be free. They need to license these songs, build 4 difficulty levels for 4 instruments and pay MS, MTV, Harmonix, etc...

25 to 50 cents would mean MTV would be losing money on these songs and probably a lot.

agree, I think the price is just about right, sure I'd love it free like everyone else but please...

get a job and stop complaining, or how about this... don't buy it if you don't like it, no one is forcing you.

Really,. stop complaining about a little over two dollars a song. Guitar Hero 2 and 3 songs are much more expensive (15 dollars for 6 songs you got to be kidding) and that's with only one instrument. Harmonix is trying to be nice by listening to the complaints that Guitar Hero's content was too expensive. If it's still too expensive for you, don't buy them.

theres a difference between buying a song and buying a rock band song

Song = .99

Song+Guitar note chart+drum note chart+bass note chart+vocal note chart = 1.99

id say its a pretty good deal

Exactly.

I mean, it's not like iTunes where you just download the song, listen to it, and you're done, you're actually getting to play the song on Rock Band across 4 difficulty levels and several instruments. There is actual work that goes into getting these songs on there and ready to be played, not to mention Microsoft's fee, profit, licensing costs, etc. It's not like you're just downloading the song to listen to it, you play it and interact with it, and in order to do this, it costs money and it takes work.

It's pretty simple, really.
