Rock band green grass and high tides help

Ok peeps. I have finally got to the last venue on rock band with expert and have passed through the first 4 song with ease. But i can't get past "green grass and high tides". I always get 85% through the song and then fail. I save my star power till the (green, red, yellow, red, green, red, yellow, etc.) part and when it gets to the next wave I just can't keep it together. Wondering if anybody could throw some tips my way. Thanks...

If you just want to suck your way through it I suggest not trying to hit all of the notes. Star Power at the long strings and focus on hitting 2 colors. This should get you through the solos and the song.

I would say either get better, or save your star power and never use it, that way you will constantly get freestyle sections throughout. Cheap, but it may work.

there is a practice mode and if this is that huge of a deal for you, try the solos really slow and work your way up

Little do we all know that the world will indeed IMPLODE if Green Grass and High Tides is not finished on Expert by Engroth_Tsuga.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. After all, I'm not going for perfection, just the minimum amount to pass.

And it will come to an end if I don't pass it.

Okay, I was stuck on this a month ago too. and I have good advice. the sequence is

Y-R-G-R-Y-R-G-R etc.... Skip the bolded and only hit the Y-R-G. if you can make it through the first set without starpower, youve got it. Just use starpower on the second time and your fine. It helps to go into practice and do what i said. It doesn't help that the song is like 45 minutes long.

Thanks for all your tips, I've been practicing it and i can almost get through it. I keep losing on the last set of triplets before the freestyle ending. So I've just been practicing hitting 2 of the 3 notes.

So i just hit Y-B-O-Y-B-O-Y-B-O-Y-B-O-Y-B-O and so on. And what i do is hold the yellow button on the lower frets and just tap the blue one, and when you hit the blue one you will get the yellow one as well. Makes things a lot easier.

Beware of mods, they can smell foul language! :)

if you have completed gh on xpert then you should have no prob.
but any way.
chew some gum or some thing while you play (i allways dooing that) and when you loosing part tink on chewing the gum and then you will just hit the colors on the screen. that's my tip i can givebobazz

I believe you are talking about "the snakes." I always play snakes like this: Index finger (1) on green, middle finger (2) on red, ring finger (3) on yellow. The you just hit 1-2-3-2-1... I don't hold down any buttons, I just time the hammer ons and pull offs properly to run through the whole snake. When that snake is repeated on red, yellow, and blue, I shift my whole hand up. I use the same 1-2-3-2-1... pattern of fingering regardless of the snake being a button higher. You're going to have to learn how to do the snakes decently, because you will probably need your starpower for the triplets at the very end.jstarzyk

Do you play the "snakes" with the upper frets or the lower frets? I know you can hold it but it just seems too much for me to think about it at once
